In purchasing the Alkaline Battery Reactivate Charger, you are taking an important step to reduce the impact on environment pollution due to waste disposal of harmful dry-cell batteries, conserve natural resources, reduce carbon emissions, prolong landfill space, reduce expenses and downtime.
Instructions and Precautions
The fully charged Ni-MH/Ni-Cd battery and reactivated Alkaline battery work perfectly with digital camera, MP3 player and other high drain electronic devices.
After the Ni-MH batteries are fully charged or the Alkaline batteries are reactivated, no overcharge will occur even the batteries have been loaded in the charger for a long time.
More activation cycles and better activation effect on Alkaline battery when it is used in digital camera, toy motor car and high current equipment (working current more than 300mA).
Due to the "inertia memory" feature of the Alkaline battery, it is suggested to use the reactivated batteries back in the same electronic device as it will give a better performance.
When a defective battery has been detected by the circuit, it cannot be recharged or reactivated.
In order to get the maximum number of activation cycles, do not allow the disposable batteries to drain all the way down or become "dead" or fail. Remove the batteries and reactivate them with the charger when you see the toy car starts to slow down or when the flashlight begins to dim.
Remember it is important not to drain the batteries all the way down or become "dead" due to full discharge.
When the voltage of the Alkaline battery is lower than 1V, it cannot be reactivated.
Do not reactivate "dead" or failed Alkaline batteries that were used in the remote control, clock, computer mouse or other low current electronic device (working current less than 200mA) because the working voltage can always be depleted to 1V and below.
Due to the diversity of the Alkaline batteries made by different manufacturers, the activation cycle will be different. The highest it can reach is as much as 80 cycles. It is recommended to use better quality Alkaline batteries so as to reach better activation effects. Do not charge the giveaway batteries of lower quality that usually comes along with electronic devices.
When the activation of the Alkaline battery is completed, it should be reactivated again after it is being used. Otherwise, the battery may become defective.
The newly purchased Alkaline battery which has not being used should not be activated by this product. Otherwise, the battery may be damaged.
The activated Alkaline battery should not be placed in rugged environment or expose to strong sunlight and humidity. If it is placed unused for a long time, leakage of chemical may result. Reactivation is not suggested.
After the Alkaline battery is activated for 15 minutes (for one piece of battery), if the red LED is still flashing, it indicates that the activation effect of this battery is poor and it is not suggested for use.
As the product works in impulse state, it is normal that the circuit makes a little "sizzling" sound.
After the Alkaline battery has being reactivated, it should be removed from the slot.
Not suitable for recharging the Rechargeable Lithium Batteries.
It is recommended to store used batteries in containers to avoid mixing and to prevent contact between negative and positive poles of batteries.
Do not reactivate the deformed, damaged, expired, rusted or leaked batteries with the Alkaline Battery Reactivate Charger.
Children should be supervised by an adult to ensure safety when operating the charger.
Do not cover the ventilation of the charger during operation.
LED Indicators (For Model G-988)
Self Test: After connecting to AC power, all LEDs lit up in red and green, flashing alternatively for a few second, then out to standby mode.
When the Ni-MH/Ni-Cd battery is charging, the corresponding LED is red.
When the Ni-MH/Ni-Cd battery remains flashing red and green alternatively, the battery has being fully charged or it has high resistance. Use up most of the electric energy and try to recharge. If it remains flashing between red and green, then the rechargeable battery is defective and not recommended for use again.
When the Alkaline battery is reactivating, the corresponding LED is flashing between red and green.
When the Ni-MH/Ni-Cd battery or Alkaline battery is fully charged or reactivated, the corresponding LED is green.
When the Ni-MH/Ni-Cd or Alkaline battery has poor contact or is defective, it will not be charged and the corresponding is flashing red LED.
After the Alkaline battery is reactivated for 15 minutes (for 1 piece of battery), if the red LED is still flashing, it indicates that the activation effect of this battery is poor and it is not recommended for use.
When an Alkaline battery with very low voltage is inserted, the charger will enter into a "standby" activation mode automatically and the red LED will be flashing. When the "standby" activation is completed, the normal reactivation state starts. The red and green LED will be flashing. These two situations above are normal and it can be used safely.
In order to process the detection, the LED might light up in red and last for several minutes after inserting the Alkaline battery/ batteries.

FAQ for POWERBACK Alkaline Battery Reactivate Charger
How much is the cost for reactivating 4 pieces of Alkaline batteries?(Answer)
The largest working power of Alkaline Battery Reactivate Charger is calculated as 6W (K0.006W) x 1.3h (the activation completion time for 4 pieces of batteries) x S$0.2262 (for 1 KW/h) = $0.00176, so the cost is less than S$0.002.
How much money can be saved while using POWERBACK Alkaline Battery Reactivate Charger? (Answer)
The average market price of one piece of Alkaline battery is S$0.60. For the first 10 cycles of usage, it can be counted as S0.60x 10= S$6.00. Hence, it can save S$6.00-S$0.60= S$5.40 for a piece of battery with its first 10 times of recycle usage using the same power provided.
Tips: Indicate on the side of the batteries the dates you purchase and reactivate them so that it can give you an idea on how much money you are saving and the number of disposable batteries that are kept away from the landfills or incinerators.
What is the "Inertia Memory" property of the Alkaline battery?(Answer)
The Alkaline battery which has being used in an electronic device should continue to be used in the same device after it has being reactivated by this product. This is due to the working current and voltage of the device which has made the internal chemical substance and structure of the Alkaline battery to reach some steady state. In another word, the Alkaline battery has "remembered" the working current of the original device which is called "Inertia Memory" feature of the Alkaline battery.
How to use the Alkaline battery in order to achieve as many times of activation cycles?(Answer)
Due to the inertia memory feature of the Alkaline battery, it should be activated immediately
when the remaining electric energy is left around 20%. This is to avoid over-discharge which will give rise to failure of the battery. For example, if the flashlight with a new Alkaline battery does not work after it is being used for 8 hours, then in order to achieve more effective activation cycles, the Alkaline battery should be reactivated after it is being used for 6 hours.
Tips: Stop using the batteries before they give up all their available stored energy. Do not wait for the batteries to stop working. Reactivate the weakened batteries when you see the toy cars begin to slow down or when the flashlight begin to dim. Manage the batteries by having the second set of reactivated batteries ready to use for the high drain devices.
How long can the Disposable battery be used after reactivation?(Answer)
According to the results of making several tests on Samsung S750 Digital camera by using Duracell Alkaline battery, it can be seen that:
Time for the first 10 times of recycle usage: approximately 100% of the new battery
Time from the 11th to 15th recycle usage: over 80% of the new battery
Time from 16th to 30th recycle usage: 80%-35% of the new battery.
Due to the diverse quality of batteries produced by the different manufacturers, generally zinc-carbon and zinc-chloride battery can be reactivated up to 5 times, Alkaline batteries can be reactivated 30-50 times depending on the quality and the condition of batteries used. The heavy-duty or high end brand of batteries can often be reactivated more times than the cheaper ones.
Can the Alkaline battery and the Ni-MH battery be reactivated and recharged simultaneously?(Answer)
It is absolutely workable. Self-adapting Charge Technology is adopted in this product for mixed charge of high intelligence Alkaline battery and Ni-MH battery, any different varieties of battery in different combination can be identified exactly and automatically.
How to conserve the reactivated Alkaline battery?(Answer)
If the reactivated Alkaline battery is to be stored, please do it after the electric energy is already used up, or otherwise the chemical leakage may occur. If the reactivated Alkaline battery has being stored for a long time, the reactivation effect will be relatively poor.
Will Alkaline battery explode while being reactivated in Alkaline Battery Reactivate Charger?(Answer)
The principle of using Alkaline Battery Reactivate Charger is to revitalize and activate internal chemical substance of the battery again but not to recharge it. As long as it is normally operated according to the instruction manual, the Alkaline battery will absolutely be safe during the process of reactivation, unless it is artificially damaged.
Reason 1: Alkaline Battery Reactivate Charger adopts the Defect Detection Technology for the Alkaline battery. It can automatically stop the reactivation before dangerous situation occur.
Reason 2: Each Alkaline battery has a built in safety gas valve to ensure safety. However, attempts to reactivate the "Dead", failed, deeply discharged or poor quality batteries could produce an explosive sound caused by leakage of the damaged disposable batteries. If chemical leakage ever occurs, clean the charger with alcohol or suitable chemical cleaner. The charger can be used safely.
Can the Alkaline battery be reactivated after it is being used up in the low current electronic devices such as the flashlight and clock?(Answer)
When the flashlight does not go on, the battery would have being discharged to a very low voltage as near as 0V, which is far below the 1.3V reference voltage. The internal structure of the battery will be destroyed and the battery will lose its effectiveness. It is similar to that of a good "doctor" cannot save the “life” of a "dead man", hence the battery cannot be reactivated again.
How to operate the Alkaline battery so as to reach a better reactivation effect while it is being used in the flashlight, toy car or other low current electronic devices?(Answer)
Such electronic devices has no function of automatic shutdown, hence the battery will be discharged to a very low voltage till depletion. If it is less than 1.3V, the internal structure of the battery will be destroyed and the battery will lose its effectiveness. The battery should be reactivated before it fails so that a better reactivation effect can be achieved. In another word, reactivate the battery when the available balance electric energy of the battery is between 20-30%. Begin the reactivation cycles when the flash light starts to dim down or when the toy car starts to slow down.
Why is the reactivation effect of the Alkaline battery used in the Digital camera better than that in the flashlight?(Answer)
When the working voltage of the battery is less than 1.3V, the Digital Camera will shut down automatically to protect the internal circuit so that the battery is not discharged to a very low voltage. The battery gets protected and hence, it reaches a better reactivation effect. Devices like the flashlight or the toy car has no automatic shut down function, the battery will be discharged to a very low voltage after its usage is completed. Once it is less than 1.3V, the internal structure of the battery will be destroyed. The battery will lose its effectiveness and the activation effect will be poor.
Why is the red LED indicator lit up while reactivating an Alkaline battery? (Normally, the red and green LED flash alternatively)(Answer)
When an Alkaline battery with very low voltage is inserted, the charger will enter into a "standby" activation mode automatically and the red LED will be flashing. When the "standby" activation state is completed, the normal reactivation state starts. The red and green LED will be flashing. In order to process the detection, the LED might also light up in red and last for several minutes after inserting the Alkaline battery/ batteries. These situations above are normal. However, after the Alkaline battery is reactivated for 15 minutes (for 1 piece of battery), if the red LED is still flashing, it indicates that the reactivation effect of this battery is poor and it is not recommended for use.
Why is the Alkaline battery used for a shorter time after reactivation?(Answer)
Reason A: The Alkaline battery is defective. Reason B: The quality of the Alkaline battery is getting poor. Reason C: With more activation cycles, shorter the usage time.
How to deal with the chemical leakage which happens in the process of reactivation?(Answer)
The Alkaline Battery Charger is designed to be chemical leak proof. Normally, chemical leakage of Alkaline battery will not occur during reactivation. However, if chemical leakage ever occur due to the use of damaged batteries and dirty the charger, it can be cleaned by alcohol or suitable chemical cleaner.
Why some Alkaline battery cannot be reactivated or the reactivation effect is poor(Answer)
This is because the internal chemical substance of the Alkaline battery has been seriously exhausted and destroyed after its usage is depleted completely by the low current devices like clock, remote control and flashlight. It is similar to an "old man" who cannot obtain the vitality of a "young man" even though he has the best of diet, hence the reactivation effect is relatively poor.
Why does the voltage of the Alkaline battery reduced a little bit after reactivation is completed?(Answer)
This is because the internal chemical reaction has not completely stabilized after reactivation of the Alkaline battery has just finished. After the removal from the charger for about ten minutes, the internal chemical reaction will be stabilized and the voltage drop will stop. Some rechargeable batteries such as Ni-MH also have this voltage drop after they are being fully charged and will continue dropping very slowly if they are been placed for standby usage.
Why do the red and green LED flash alternatively when the Ni-MH battery is being recharged?(Answer)
Normally, the LED turns red when the Ni-MH battery is being charged. If the red and green LED flash alternatively, it indicates that the battery has being fully charged or it has a high internal resistance. In this case, use up most of the battery's electric energy and try to recharge again. If the red and green LED remain flashing alternatively, it shows that the usage time of the battery is very short or this battery is damaged. It is suggested not to use it again.
What kind of Alkaline battery can be used for reactivation?(Answer)
After repeated cyclic test on the Alkaline Battery Reactivate Charger, it is proven that all the LR6 and LR03 Alkaline batteries can be used for reactivation.
Why buy an Alkaline Battery Reactivate Charger?(Answer)
